How Does This Work
As part of the program a state certified contractor would perform an energy audit of your home. This audit costs a refundable $125.00 and takes approximately 2-3 hours. On completion of the audit you will be given the estimated percentage savings you would experience and the scope of the work to be performed on your heating system. lf you whish to proceed, the paperwork is sent to the State. The work is then scheduled and performed, with the contractor being paid in full. Upon job completion, a confirming audit is performed and the paperwork is sent to the state for payment. The Sate of New Jersey energy rebates payment is sent directly to you.

The key is to achieve a 25% reduction in your home energy costs. In most homes this can be achieved solely by upgrading the furnace system. However, because of the incredible and unprecedented savings, many homeowners include in the project additional equipment upgrades such as the water heater and the air conditioning system. In such cases the 50% energy rebate and the additional $1500 Energy Tax Credit covers all pieces of equipment.
